2013 BMW Z2 Roadster
After a very long time of countless rumors about a BMW Z2 Roadster, we have received some actual information on this future model by the German automaker. The 2013 BMW Z2 Roadster will be under the Z4 and will be in direct competition against models such as the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
The engine will not exceed 2,000cc and will come in at least 2 versions. The higher-end model will feature 250Hp while entry level versions will start at 120HP. The turbo enhanced models accelerate up to 60mph in a bit less than 7 seconds with a top speed of 150mph. The new model will be 10 inches shorter than the Z4 and with the exterior design being inspired by the future 1-Series.
It was originally rumored that the target models of the Z2 were the fans of Mazda MX-5 Miata. However, the engine that will be powering this model is still not completely confirmed, and together with the fact that the Miata has considerably less power and is also heavier, there are no clear-cut targets at this time.
Production will begin in 2013 but there will a concept model that will be shown in 2012. The price of the 2013 BMW Z2 Roadster will be at around $30,000.
